Exploring Shakespeare – Twelfth Night (FRI DAY)
What makes Twelfth Night a good play? Why is it so frequently performed? What does it say about love? Pretension? Illusion? Delusion? What does it say to us in the 21st Century? What are the particular qualities of poetry, language and drama that make up its appeal? These are some of the many questions we will address in this course on Shakespeare.
Writing the Short Story
Ideal for beginners or more seasoned writers who just want to have some fun with their writing. It would appeal to those who might want to unlock possible approaches to longer work such as collections and novels.
Introduction to Drawing (WEDNESDAY AFTERNOONS)
Drawing uses very simple means – a drawing implement, or material and a surface, but it can be very engrossing and immensely rewarding. It can help you to see the world around you with greater understanding and appreciation.
Italian (Beginners) – (WEDS EVE)
Italian Beginners gives you the chance to learn how to use the right language in the right context; you will get to grips with the building blocks of the Italian language and start to speak with ease and confidence in basic situations.
Introduction to ‘Pastels for Pleasure’
Together we will explore and experiment with different pastels and papers to discover our own individual skills and flare in this exciting medium.
Introduction to Practical Astrology (Wednesday evenings)
The course will start with an overview of astrology including a brief history and an explanation of the different fields of astrology.
Creative Writing – Advanced Novel Workshop for Writers
Each week, three writers submit up to 5000 words of prose or short fiction. Across two hours, the group will discuss the presented work, and offer critically constructive feedback.
